Workday Update

June 1st, 2024 - First workday of the summer

The green leaves sparkled in the morning sun. The air is fresh and clean. Strangers from 4 different churches gathered at Mount Elim Bible Camp on Saturday. We split into cleaning crews both outside and inside. These 20 people came together and worked hard throughout the day. 

For the inside activities, these amazing workers cleaned 11 cabins, the main part of the dining hall, and the recreation hall, and a donated dishwasher was hooked up in the manager’s cabin, throughout the day some leaks to the Dining hall kitchen were discovered and repaired. The structural supports in the Yurt cracked in places over the winter and were repaired.

Outside Aspen trees were thinned out, removed from nearby buildings, piled up, and tree stumps in the main yard area were removed. Cement from old shower houses was broken into removable chunks, and the leftover concrete blocks from the water treatment/bath house building were moved to an out-of-the-way place. The cattle guard at the driveway was cleaned out and reset into place. 

Last but not least the sign was updated with the new phone number for the camp which is 970-457-4011.

By the end of the day, those 20 people were friends in arms as we battled back the elements trying to take over the camp. 

I am looking forward to our future work days and meeting more friends who love camp and kids. 

The next work day is June 22nd, 9 - 4.
